CARL ALFRED OLAFSON

     After graduating from the Southwest School of Botanical Medicine, Mr. Olafson established
Botanical Medicinal. This company manufactures plant extracts, ointments, liniments, and massage oils, perfumes, essential oil blends, personalized herbal formulations, bath products, and herbal smoking mixtures. Additional products available through the Herb Store include bulk organic herbs both culinary and medicinal, Chinese patent medications, books and healing percussion instruments.      Mr. Olafson 's grandfather raised ginseng in northern Minnesota and marketed it to Asian
countries. This early influence prompted Carl to pursue Ethnobotany, herbalism and a holistic
approach to maintaining health. Carl attended the Southwest School of Botanical Medicine
in 1994. With completion of the training, Carl received a certification as a Clinical Herbalist.
He currently guest lectures at the University of Idaho in the nursing and pharmacy departments.
    
     He hosts a local television show featuring local medicinal plants and is currently writing a
book about medicinal plants of the Western states. In spring and summer, Mr. Olafson
